Ridgewood

Ridgewood, NJ is a one of a kind town. It was established on November 20, 1894. Originally the village only had access to the Ho-Ho-Kus Train Station to assist commuters. As the village grew the need for an additional train station became apparent and the Ridgewood Station was constructed in 1853.  As the population of the town grew so did the amenities. The residents enjoyed Greydon Park, The Warner Theater, Playhouse, Oprah House and many more. Today families continue to enjoy the pool, tennis courts and playground at Graydon Park all spring and summer long as well as the Warner Movie Theater which residents also still enjoy going to year round.

Ridgewood is currently divided into 3 main sections. The Lawns, The heights, and The Old Country Club. Each section has its own unique characteristics. The Laws is the area that was once made up of almost all cape cod homes originally built as affordable housing for  the post war soldiers. The Lawns is also home to the Duck Pond and an entrance to the Saddle River Trail. The Duck Pond has a walking path along the pond as well as a large playground and Dog Park. The old country club section once housed the Ridgewood Country Club, now in Paramus, NJ. It also has the highest density of homes valued over $1 million, in Ridgewood. The Heights is the home of some of the most prestigious streets in Ridgewood. The high elevation is what gives this section its name. From a few of the homes on Crest have a beautiful view of the Manhattan Skyline.  The Heights is home to The Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club.  Most of the homes in the Heights sell between $700,00 and $2,000,000.
